Sam can build a picnic table in two hours and a porch swing in three hours. He must spend 40 hours this week producing both swings and tables. To model this situation, Sam can use the equation 2x + 3y = 40.
a) What do x and y represent in the equation?
b) Graph the equation.
c) If Sam builds 8 tables this week, how many swings will he build?

I am going to set up a little decoration with hay bales as my base items and then we are carving 4 pumpkins, I wanna use those, and maybe just some plain uncarved pumpkins and the carved ones be somewhere on the porch? What I am wanting to know is where should I decorate my lil display at? & ideas of things to add to it etc..
I have this empty space on the front porch that faces into the front door, there are rails all around the porch.. I got a porch swing and thats basically it. I thought about that little empty corner, it’s a good size.. but there is also a space in the yard like right in front of the porch.
I’m not sure which would be best? I know with the rain and all the porch sounds better.. What do you think? I don’t know if rain would mess it up but it does get pretty windy and rains hard.. though it would be pretty in the yard, hmm..
I also thought it would look good in front of a tree or something, my neighbor has this tree right in front of her house and it is positioned perfectly where she can do her decorations and it would look great.. I dont have many trees though, I have two in the front yard but the front yard is big and the trees are at the farthest part from the house.. So I wouldn’t want it that far.
What are some ideas also for say the steps coming to the porch? I wanna put candles in the carved pumpkins that we do, and have it as lighting on the porch where should I put them? It’d prob be safer to not put those on the hay bales..
Any ideas for decorating like kind of fall theme.. sorta like halloween but I don’t want no scary decor, mostly just the carved pumpkins are the only halloween based thing im interested in.
It’s my first place and I have kids so I wanna decorate and never have, so I’m clueless.
I’ve got 3 bales set up on the porch and 3 on the ground, its raining now actually and i just put them there today! but I think it will be ok, its some hay from a farm so it is bigger than what u get in a store and its cheaper!! so i can get more if it molds.. maybe it wont. but i am usin the ones on the porch to put big carved pumpkins on with lights inside. and the one on the ground has a scarecrow sittin on top and gonna put flowers and not sure what else. but thank you!

Yesterday myself and two others were sitting on a porch swing when it broke. My foot was under the swing when it happened so I landed still sitting on the swing with my leg bent under it. When I stood up my foot was really numb and buzzing. About five minutes later it really started to hurt, so I stayed in bed for a few hours and iced it. Later that night I was able to walk. This morning the area is swollen and brusied, but I can walk. It doesn’t hurt very bad unless I press on the area (the bone that extends from my big toe). I’m wondering if I should get an x-ray. I think my parents would be upset if they had to take me to get one and nothing was broken, so I want a second opinion before I ask them. I don’t think they are convinced it is broken, but thats exactly what happened last time when my arm was broken.

this is a song i wrote: I was sittin on my front porch swing, thinkin bout what you said to me, how I wish i could take lost times back, i’m sorry for the pain i caused you, i wanna make it all better, i wanna be the one you wanna talk to about, in a good way. Forgive me if i overthink the obvious. I love you and Truth is I need you in my life, *chourus* don’t wanna push you away, cause when I say goodbye i want you to cry because you’re sad, ooohhh, I want you to see me the way that i see you. *chorus* I want you to remember me for my good deeds for my caring nature. I don’t want you to let me go, but first I gotta show you that, I love you and I need you in my life, I can’t say that I don’t care if you walk away. Truth is I do and baby i’m gonna show you that I *Chorus* Ohh please let me show you the better me. sittin on my front porch swing thinking about what to do to gain you back.
no i didn’t copy someone else’s song.
i’m making longer, this is just what i have so far…

If you’re like a lot of families, this time of year is the time that you’re looking around the house and yard and deciding what projects need to be taken on to make this a more enjoyable space for all of you. one thing that many people don’t think of is making sure that the backyard suits all members of the family. to be more specific, they don’t make sure the patio area suits the smaller members of the family.
Most people purchase patio furniture sets that are suited for adults. since usually it’s all the parents sitting around the table while the kids play in the yard this seems to make perfect sense. but what happens when it comes time for the kids to gather around the table for a meal? Generally, it’s very awkward.
How many times have you seen a child trying to sit at a set of adult patio tables and chairs? Usually, their chin is barely coming over the surface of the table. They’re reaching up and over the lip of the table trying to get the food off their plate. More often than not things end up getting spilled and knocked over as the children are trying to reach around the table but can’t because of the position they’re sitting in.
Instead of setting yourself up for a constant mess on the patio, why don’t you take the time to prepare a specific area for the kids? did you know there are patio tables and chairs that are specifically made for children? these patio sets are miniature versions of the ones you’re using. That means that they are at the right height for your children to use.
Here’s what you should look for when purchasing patio tables and chairs for kids. first, look at the chairs. they should be at a height that when your child sits down they have some stability. they should be able to bend their knees off the end of the chair, just like you do. it would be best if they were able to touch the ground as well, to give them a little extra stability. they should also be able to sit back in the chair and enjoy back support just like you do with a grownup table.
When the chairs are pulled up to the table, they should be at abdomen or lower chest level. think about where a table sits when you pull up to it. this is how you want it to be for your children. You don’t want them to have to be reaching up and over the edge of the table in order to pick up their food. Instead you want them to be comfortably seated and be able to reach forward to pick up the food or drink that they want to have. You also don’t want a table that’s so massive that your children can’t reach across it. Just like at the adult table, condiments, drinks and other items are usually towards the center of the table. If your child has to stand up and lean across the table each time they want something, chances are they’re either going to knock something over or end up leaning in their food and making a mess while they’re just trying to reach something that’s far away.
