Question by to tell ya the truth………..: how much would it cost to recover a couch and loveseat?
Ours is fairly new yet but we are changing our color scheme and fabric to match the 2 new recliners(blue) a smooth herculon I know it will seem silly to some of you but I prefer the “exploding large flower” look lol and I went against my own taste when I bought that dark green and blueish crappy aztech look. lol it was so pretty in my daughters house 
I want to stick to my own taste but now I have to hit my husband with the price. we will each get 800.00 from the president in June(maybe) and we want to spend it in our community…( Yes we have enough money banked for 3 mos in case of unemployment…)
so how much my little money master friends 
its just a normal sized couch with 3 cushions and a puffy non removable back. Thanks for ANY help

money isn’t the issue exactly, altho I hate to throw out a set of perfectly good furniture. I live in Montana…much cheaper than say…LA or New York. I just need to know so I can get started with my devilish plan to start my husband on a “Dirven ” path to find it “Cheaper” than what everyone says it’s going to cost. Its what he lives for, lol and Its one of the thousands of reasons I love him

That entirely depends on the area of the country you live in, price of the new fabric, and the set prices of the shop you choose to employ. There is going to be a huge difference in pricing. You often can’t even save money by buying fabric on sale, as some upholsterers charge a yardage fee if you don’t buy their fabric, in addition to the upholstery fee.
I had a small sofa done for a couple of hundred with my own fabric, but I used an out of the way, less than professional shop. Expect to pay a lot more for two pieces at a professional shop using their fabric.
In general I feel it is more expensive to upholster than to buy new pieces, especially if the frames on the sofas you have are not expensive to start with.
Be sure to compare the difference in new items and upholstery cost before committing. You might be able to sell the old sofas to offset some of the cost of the new ones and come out much better in the long run.

we got way nicer ones so it cost us 16,000 dollars but it was worth it.

Why not either make, or have made, slipcovers? Much cheaper, and can be laundered.

Question by thenameisthesame: Dual reclining loveseat – uneven cushions?
I recently purchased a La-Z-Boy dual reclining loveseat. I noticed that the seat on the left sticks out about an inch more than the one on the right. I think that in the manufacturing process, the fabric on the seat on the right was sewn a little tigher than the seat on the left. It’s not very obvious and both seats are just comfortable. I didn’t notice this “defect” until about 3 weeks after I had it. Should I call the store and have them come look at it or is this something that is an acceptable variation?

If it bothers you, then it is worth a call. It may be a design flaw that is in every piece and you may not be able to get one that is different. If it took three weeks for you to notice it, then maybe no one else will ever see it anyway and if you like the piece, then what does it matter? You might feel better if they told you that they were aware of it and that all pieces are made that same way, but if yours is the only one, you might want them to replace it for fear that there could be other more serious flaws that might show up later.

You can do it yourself with a couple bolts of a fabric of your choice and a staple gun. Otherwise, my wife’s go-to solution for color scheme changes are inexpensive matching or contrasting slipcovers.

Help! I bought a loveseat from a friend this weekend. It is only a year old and in perfect condition! The problem is when my cousin and I were driving home with it in his truck on Saturday we went under a bridge so dirty water dripped down onto all the cushions. By the time I had gotten home with it, the stains were all dry. This is a beige couch. I tried blotting it with mild soap with a washcloth but it didn’t work. Can anyone help me? I’m so upset. It was a beautiful day so I didn’t think I needed to cover the loveseat on the trip home.

Use a mr. clean dry eraser on it, I clean house, I answered a similar question-got 10 points,They said it work great.Do it when the couch & with the eraser dry.

microfiber is made so that all that stuff will come out …even ink. dont blot scrub. i was just at a home show where a man was showing me these couches. he says almost anything will come out. dont panic. do check your cleaner a spot you cant see first though. also they make this thing called a sonic scrubber. it looks like a glorified toothbrush. it has a soft head attachment that should work pefect. you can buy it for less that 20 bucks at target.

I bought some special shampoo for mine and it actually stained the fabric! The thing that works the best is straight vinegar. I put it in a spray bottle, sprayed it on and rubbed it with a cloth and it worked miracles.
Oddly enough, my kids have some pieces of clothing that are made out of the same material and they go right through the washer and dryer – no problem. I was too afraid to try that on my couch though LOL.
I’ll never get another microfiber couch again though because it collects SO MUCH LINT and little pieces of dirt it’s unbelievable. It only looks nice when it’s freshly vacuumed and all the grain is going the same direction. I hate that you can draw a picture on the fabric with just a finger tip!

They are probably stitched onto the fabric on the base in your case, though this is not the case for every love seat.
