If the credit crunch is affecting you hard but you still want to have a new look for the summer, try putting new cushions on your patio furniture.
It is not going to be as expensive as having to spend a few hundred pounds on a completely new set of furniture but it will make your old furniture look like it has a new lease of life.
As it is summer in the UK, I would recommend going for bring colors such as yellow or orange which will put the feeling of summer into your garden or patio decking area. The cushions maybe the type which have zip on and off covers which are easy to remove and refit with new ones.
If you are after an extremely cheap alternative to renewing your cushions, you could actually use some material that you have lying around the house such as an old set of curtains.
Just one curtain should be enough to cover 4 cushions in material. you can even die your white curtains to the color you want – or bleach and then die if just dyeing is not an option. if curtains are not an option and you have a little more money, consider going to a fabric outlet that should be able to source you some very cheap material.
In order to fit the new fabric, you could sow them together to make a sort of pillow case which will slip onto your existing cushion.
If you don't have time for this sort of thing, then you can just use some safety pins to make sure the fabric stays on – this option is less time consuming as well.

The area is long and narrow, 8 feet by 23 feet. The long front is screened; the two end walls are beige stucco, like house. Ceiling is white. I’m getting a ceiling fan. I have green indoor-outdoor carpet, a bit worn, but okay.There’s a white plastic chaise lounge with green striped cushion and a white plastic table with four chairs. I have place mats and silk tulips on the table. There’s one small white plastic table.I don’t love the white plastic patio furniture, but it’s all I can afford right now. I want to accessorize and add some wall decor to the stucco, if possible. But what?I don’t have a green thumb, and I live in Florida. I will add some plants and flowers, but need suggestions.It’s hot and humid here. Fabrics fade and mildew. During certain seasons, yellow pollen lies thick as powder over everything. So I have to be practical. It doesn’t have to look like Martha Stewart dropped by, but I do need practical, inexpensive suggestions. Ideas, please!!
