Question by csnkrushin: Can I put polyester fiber filled cushions in washing machine?
I have outdoor furniture cushions that really need a good washing – can they be put in the washing machine and dryer? There are no cleaning instructions on the tags. I purchased them at ocean state job lot a couple of years ago. thanks for the input.

remove the cover and wash those alone ,as far is the filling goes you will never get those to wash and dry properly replace them instead, you are best to bring them inside on a rainy day mold will eventually form on them if they are exposed to the elements,

Cascade dishwashing liquid in very warm water. Soak them in a bath tub overnight. It wont make the colors fade. This also works with aging yellowing white delicate fabrics but spot test area first.

I use a product called Jo-Max owned by zinnser company. It kills the mold and the spores that will let it come back.
Good luck with it. (Lowes and Home Depot have this)

I have seen and feel you may be better served by going to a company like www.summerlivingdirect.com that specializes in custom patio cushions and market umbrellas with hundreds of outdoor fabrics to choose from. That way you know it will last and you get your money’s worth.
