House of the week in Montclair – plus Baristaville Sunday Sampler after the jump.
113 Alexander Avenue, MontclairList Price: $770,000Taxes: $17,068Lot Size: 0.36 Acres4 BR/3.5 BAOpen Sunday, 2-4pm.Listing Agent: Roberta Baldwin, Keller Williams Towne Square Realty, 973-420-9043 (cell) If you ask me, this Montclair home has everything going for it – it’s pretty new construction, built in 1994, of modern, not mega proportions. Neo-Victorian in design with gables, wrap around porch, bough window, and high ceilings, its layout is modern and practical to suit today’s lifestyles. the heart of the living space is a combined kitchen and great room which opens onto a small deck that leads you to the spectacular, and I do mean spectacular English garden. before I go there, back to the kitchen. Sally Ross Designs conceived the multi-functional space about 5 years ago, tranforming three boxy rooms without flow. the result is a lovely entertaining and cook’s kitchen surrounded by windows anchored with an l-o-n-g green Brazilian slate island. (Apparently Sally Ross leads the pack for “it” kitchens.) On the other half of the space, subtly separated by half-walls, is the dining area, and a comfy famiy room featuring built ins, a window seat, and stone fireplace. (Off the kitchen, a practical yet elegant mudroom.) where else would you want to be in this home — except lolligagging in the amazing garden.
Richly planted with flowering annuals, stone paths meander to a meditative sitting area, home to Koi fish in the bubbling cascading rock pond. Periwinkle adirondack chairs and matching trellises look stunning on the curvy lawn; behind sculpted beds is a playground set and a potting shed. All this wonderfullly framed by huge evergreens creating an oasis of privacy. Some of you may know this garden, which three years ago was featured on the Van Vleck “Roses to Rock Gardens” annual tour.
What else: the home has a modern Soho feel; wood floors are gleaming, there’s a view of greenery from every window, rooms have high, oversized windows, and hanging baskets of fuschia on the porch is just another wonderful detail. the owner of the house was happy to show me the finished basement – his “manctuary.” A nice place to get away from it all, complete with office, TV room, exercise room, bedroom. A married man’s bachelor pad, I suppose. the only downside – no garage, and limited parking. For GSMLS info and photos, click here.

Question by Zetsu: Teen girls: Which date would be worse to go on?
Choose which date would be a worse experience. These are first dates. Assume your single.
Date 1.
You meet a handsome, sweet guy at the gym. You start talking to each other, and find out you go to the same high school. You eventually go out with him, and he decides to take you to a very authentic Italian Ristorante. When you sit down to eat, you find out he loves potty/bathroom humor. He makes jokes about you farting and how he hears other people’s “waste” dropping in the toilet when he is in the boys bathroom. You go outside after the dinner is over, try to sit down on a bench, but you sit on a whoopie cushion he places and makes a very loud fart sound. Everyone around you laughs at you, then he takes you home.
Date 2.
Same situation as date 1, with Italian Restaurant. You arrive at the Restaurant, and sit down at a table with him. All of a sudden, he pulls out a 2 foot long pet snake he carries around with him in his shirt, he wants you to pet it but you refuse. He starts to talk about gruesome animal huntings where on tv he watched how a eagle can devour a monkey and how the blood dribbled from its beak *more gory details*. When the food comes, you ordered a chicken sandwich, so he asks the waiter to switch your order for a tofu sandwich behind your back!
Which date would be worse and why?
@vegeta14: -______________________- lol jking, i do like italian food though.

Answer by • мαняιє l o v e s immortality •
Date Number 1.
I can’t stand when people start talking about the bathroom, or do stuff that your supposed to do in the bathroom. It’s disgusting, no one wants to hear about that. Especially, if you’re taking a girl on a date! Also, it’s immature.

Question by Sharon Newman (YR) Must Die: Double Dare on Big Brother?
Now that Big Brother 11 is officially over, here’s something TPTB should consider for Big Brother 12 next year.
How may of you of you Big Brother fans remember a game show on Nickelodeon called Double Dare? Airing in the 80′s and 90′s, it was a trivia game show for kids and families featuring crazy and messy physical challenges, and an even sloppier obstacle course to top it all off. Well, if you’ve watched videos of the Double dare obstacle course on YouTube, here’s something you’d probably agree with me on – Double Dare coming to Big Brother. Especially since nobody got to spend any time outside the Big Brother house this year, a trip to Orlando, Florida via private jet would be a good thing for the Final Three, at least!
For part one of the challenge (called either “Bye Bye Birdie” or “Crazy Dance,” depending on whether they decide to include music or not) the final three housemates have to get into birdcages that spin and swing around, moving all around the area like bumper cars or some other amusement park ride, moving to the beat of music played on satellite (again, optional). The only difference is, the birdcage doors are quite unsteady, and one false move could have you falling out (they would have soft mats below to cushion you.) To win this part of the challenge, you have to stay in your cage for as long as possible and not fall out, and the last one to remain in the cage goes on to part three of the challenge (which would take place back in the BB house)
The infamous obstacle course would be part two of the challenge. The final two housemates have to run the obstacle course all by their little selves. However, instead of eight obstacles, there would be eleven, twelve or thirteen, depending on how many housemates have been evicted at the time of the Final Three. For each obstacle represents a fallen housemate. Another difference, instead of flags, they have to get cards that have housemates’ names on them (laminated, since some of them would be sloppy and would have to be washed off.) When they have completed all the obstacles, they have one more to do. In an obstacle called “Eviction Orders”, the contender would have to put all the cards with the evicted housemates’ names on them in the correct order according to when the evictions happened. The one to complete the whole obstacle course in the least amount of time will also go on the final part of the HOH challenge.
Does this sound like a good idea or what? I think this would be neat to watch on BB.

I remember Double Dare, but you know how I think BB12 should go? They should have all the winners from season 1-11 in the BB house competing against one another. that would be awesome. either that or they should have a celebrity edition. now that would be even better!
Answer by ridefakey2
great ideas, hope you get $ $ for such good ideas!
Answer by Mystery Man
They should make the theme of the BB House like a Gameshow type. Because I do like the idea of the Double Dare thing. But if they made the whole show about game shows, that would make it alot better.
